Body Based Therapies | Returning Soon

WestCASA has offered in past years, trauma-informed body-based therapies to assist participants in their healing journey and complement traditional therapy modalities.
Body-based therapies, particularly when engaged with sexual assault victim/survivors, has been found to forge a healing connection between the mind and body in trauma recovery. Body-based therapies encompass a range of techniques that engage the body’s innate capacity for healing, allowing victim/survivors to access and release trauma stored in their bodies, leading to profound improvements in mental health and well-being.
WestCASA’s body-based therapy facilitators offer tailored approaches to healing and ensure that participants feel safe and build on developing positive relationships with their own body.
WestCASA will soon offer an expanded variety of trauma-informed body-based therapy such as:
- Yoga
- Mindfulness
- Shiatsu
“I found it really good that she (facilitator) altered the yoga program to meet my needs in a way that was private and respectful.”
